Lee used to be ranked as high as #39 in the world after reaching the Sweet 16 at the 07 US Open. He has since gone on a tailspin but is glad to find himself on home soil in the Seoul Challenger where he enjoys a superb 36-2 record, having earned victories over such quality opposition as Stepanek, Ancic, Tsonga, Querrey, etc. Admittedly, his victories in the earlier rounds of this year's tourney do not impress nearly as much as those mentioned. He has dispatched of An Jae-Sung, Mathieu Montcourt and Daniel Brands, dropping only 10 games total in 3 matches. Needless to say, he enjoys the conditions and the surface and obviously, he will be motivated to continue rising through the ranks from a disheartening and distant #157 currently.
Tip: ATP Players can have an uncanny liking (or disliking as the case may be) of certain tournaments. These sorts of factors are not directly built into the Insight Tennis Model and often help explain sudden reversals of form.
