That third and final wildcard for Newport has been awarded to teenager Denis Kudla, who has made the trip home from the All England Club where he was a QFist losing to Arguello.
He was also a QFist at last year's boys US Open losing to highly rated French player Gianni Mina, and makes his third appearance at ATP level after bundling out of qualifying at both Legg Masons last year and s'Hertogenbosch early last month when he gifted his opponent a walkover.
Kudla is a Ukranian-born American 17yo who resides in Arlington, USA, he plays right-handed with a double-fisted backhand and his favourite surface is grass.
He is known for being an all-round shotmaker who trains exceptionally hard, he is also a decent mover on the court but at 5'8" with apparently a "moderate" serve, it will be interesting to see how that stacks up against the big boys on such a serve-dominated turf.
