Kohl pulled out of Indian wells due to severe stomach indigestion; according to his website he spent the whole night vomiting - sounds really bad.

Seppi post match news (translated):

Bitter day in Rotterdam.

After 4-1 Kohli experienced a burglary and pays tribute to the aftermath of the viral disease -4:6 2:6. After consultation with the doctors he has canceled the tournament in Marseille next week and will hopefully travel to the United States fit again. We wish you a speedy recovery Kohli!

German Philipp Kohlschreiber set a second-round clash with World No. 2 Roger Federer after battling past Kazakhstan’s Andrey Golubev 5-7, 7-6(6), 6-4 in two hours and 30 minutes. World No. 34 Kohlschreiber reached the quarter-finals in Monte-Carlo in 2007 (l. to Nadal) and 2010 (l. to Ferrer).

Kohli on his "off season"....

I had some day rest which really gave me some energy. This year I started a bit earlier and flew to south africa with my coach Miles MacLagan. We had a very intense week of work and I feel really in shape now. We worked a lot especially in terms of fitness.
Miles way of working with me is definitely something new and makes me feel positive about 2011. It was a new step going to South Africa as well and I really hope that will pay off in the new season.

Post his loss to Djoko in IW where he squandered 3 mp's, Kohlschreiber decided to take some time out and went to Las Vegas for a couple of days to "clear his mind" and rest up ahead of Miami.

"I've now started training again, and I believe I am well placed also with a bye in the first round. I am going to play the doubles aswell, this time with Julian Knowle (of Austria).", he said.

Interestingly, in his on-court interview after the mixed doubles for Germany against the Brits, Philipp Kohlschreiber admitted to Fred Stolle that he isn't quite happy with where his game is out right now.

"Yeah, I'm not really happy where I am at the moment. Even my forehand is not really working well right now, but I hope to improve it in the next few days here and next week, and to also be in good form (referring to him saying Murray was in form for the AO title) for Aussie Open", he said.

@D: What a strange decision for a guy clearly running on empty and totally disinterested in Paris.

Philipp Kohlschreiber will contest the indoor challenger event in Salzburg, Austria, in yet another strange scheduling arrangement from the German.

In years past, Kohly has played French Interclub tennis in the French West Indies in exhibitions and other "events" that have no bearing on ranking points etc, but this year he has accepted a wild card into the event from tourny organisers Edwin Weindorfer and Herwig Straka.

He has been on mini vacation for two weeks, will go to Austria for this challenger then have another few weeks off for his off-season.
