| | The junior sensation Berankis has proven his worth as a wildcard entrant into qualifying with two hard-fought wins over the consistent Marrero and then the big one the top seed Stakhovsky after being blown away in the first set. Perhaps there were nerves, perhaps it was persistence but there is already no doubting the talent of the big Lithuanian who dominated the youngsters circuit with the other invincibles Tomic and Ignatik. He thrashed Phau on clay earlier in the year - a surface that should suit the style of the quick Phau - and now meets him on a harder court which is only more conjucive to his powerful game. The German has beaten two unflattering locals and does have a good record at qualifying for this event in the past, however I feel his run will come to an end at the hands of Berankis who will be motivated to end this year on a high by exceeding all expectations and progressing to the main draw where he could well win a match or two with the right draw. |

| | Sergiy is having a fantastic year breaing through into the top 100 and has had some impressive results which has taken him to the number 1 seed of these qualifications while the unknown Lithuanian is quite new to the tour and hasnt been impressive enough for me and hasnt shown much potential yet, for me he doesnt have enough experanice here and can only see a Stakhovsky win. |
