The No. 15 seed Viktor Troicki broke Sergiy Stakhovsky four times to defeat the Ukranian 6-4, 6-4. The match wasn't good, Troicki wasn't so good, but he won this. Troicki is aiming to reach his second Masters 1000 quarter-final after advancing to the final eight in Monte-Carlo.

World No. 119 Alejandro Falla won a main draw match at the US Open for just the second time as he saved three match points to oust Serbian No. 15 seed Viktor Troicki 3-6, 6-3, 4-6, 7-5, 7-5. Troicki had led 4-2 in the fourth set and held three match points in the 10th game before Falla fought back to clinch victory in three hours and 40 minutes.

Italian Fabio Fognini claimed four service breaks in a 6-4, 6-1 upset of 14th seeded Serbian Viktor Troicki.

Djokovic goes on to face fifth seed Gael Monfils, who prevented an all-Serbian quarter-final meeting when he saved three match points to eliminate No. 12 seed Viktor Troicki 3-6, 7-6(0), 7-6(5) after two hours and 35 minutes.

Troicki went 3 for 3 on his break points in the opening set, but was unable to capitalise on his next eight chances - including three match points at 6-5 in the second set - before finally breaking for a 4-3 lead in the third set. But the Frenchman fought back once again, denying Troicki from serving out the victory at 5-4 before proceeding to clinch the win on his fourth match point in the tie-break.

Viktor Troicki, the No. 12 seed, overcame American Michael Yani 2-6, 6-3, 6-1 after converting four of his six break points over the final two sets. Davis Cup teammate Janko Tipsarevic broke Colombian Alejandro Falla three times en route to a 7-5, 6-1 victory.

Troicki awaits the winner between John Isner and Marcos Baghdatis; Isner was up a set when rain curtailed play Tuesday evening. Tipsarevic will face either No. 15 seed Fernando Verdasco or qualifier Tobias Kamke, who had split sets before the suspension.

The 11th-seeded Isner advanced to his third straight semi-final this summer, upending third-seeded Viktor Troicki 7-6(5), 3-6, 6-1 in a quarter-final clash.

The 6’ 9’’ American broke the match open in the third set, breaking Troicki’s serve three times to notch his first victory in three meetings against the Serbian. Troicki did not face a break point in the first two sets, but won just 36 per cent of his service points in the deciding set. "When we got into that third set, I told myself I need to try and get ahead, with a 0-15, or 15-30 [lead on Troicki's serve]. If I can do that, I kind of know that my opponent will feel pressure, and that's what happened in the second game of the third set," Isner said.

Isner next plays another past Washington finalist, No. 3 seed Viktor Troicki, who progressed with a 6-3, 6-3 win over South Africa’s Kevin Anderson. Troicki has won his two previous meetings against Isner.

Third seed and 2008 finalist Viktor Troicki ended Ryan Harrison’s hopes of reaching the semi-finals in three consecutive weeks to start the summer hard-court swing. He fired 13 aces and converted four of six break points to claim a 7-5, 6-2 win.

"My focus went down and I underestimated my opponent a little bit," admitted Troicki. "He got back into the match and started playing well. I got tight in the important moments of the third set. But the last three games, I played great. I'm happy that I won but not happy with how I played in the third and fourth sets."

Viktor Troicki rounded out the tie for Serbia as he prevailed against Robert Lindstedt in the dead rubber. Having lost the first set 3-6, the Serb had just levelled the match with a 6-4 second set when Lindstedt was forced to retire with a right wrist injury.

Last year’s surprise quarter-finalist, Yen-Hsun Lu of Chinese Taipei, sprung another upset on Wednesday as he ousted 13th-seeded Serbian Viktor Troicki 7-6(5), 6-4, 6-4 in two hours and 14 minutes. The 27-year-old Lu, who stunned Andy Roddick in the 2010 fourth round, had not won back-to-back tour-level matches this season prior to Wimbledon.
