| | bullet please dont go on Stadler with this one. I have actually changed my mind. He impressed many in Wimbledon, but remember that he had problems qualifying and he saved a match point against the young Bellucci, so he could easily have been out. And plus this is Newport, the home country of Spadea and he had the best results in the USA throughout his career. He played a final here in 2005 against Rusedski and has decent results in Newport. Vince is a tricky veteran, and if he feels good his baseline game may totaly shoot out the optimistic Bellucci |

| | Stadler made a very good impression at Wimbledon coming through qualifying and then beating Karlovic and Bellucci before finding the quality of Baghdatis too much in the third round. The big serving lefty is happy to employ serve volley tactics but is also pretty consistent from the baseline when recieving. American veteran Spadea let a winning position slip in the first round at Wimbledon and has since gone out to Ram in the first round of a challenger retiring at 5-0 in the second set. The American was a finalist here in 2005 and made the quarters in 2007 but sandwiched between those two was a first round exit. Spadea is still very consistent from the baseline despite his advancing years and is still a capable opponent. Stadler has a bit of momentum behind him following his Wimbledon exploits and with Spadea having lost his last three and with a possible injury worry, I'd rather be with the German. |

| | if this guy stadler wins, i will walk around naked for a month. Has anyone seen his past record on grass, its brutal. He even lost earlier this month to rohan bopanna on grass, and his past record is nothing to write home about. The only way Baghdatis will lose this is if he takes the match to casually expecting a win which i very much doubt. He looks back to his best, is fit, and i expect him to progress a fair way in this tournament. Im going very big on this one as odds of 1.21 at betfair are a steal in my opinion. Money for Jam |

| | The roughly even record against left handers makes little difference to my thinking on this match. The same was said of Kiefer-Nadal which I notice we have a rematch of now, and Kiefer didn't stand a chance then or now. So left handedness aside Baghdatis has too much Wimbledon pedigree and is too good a returner of serve (one of the best) for Stadler. Baghdatis. |

| | Stadler has come this far with some merit in his wins but here is where it ends. I see a 3-4 setter for the man below: |
