Chela won this match up pretty convincingly 6-4, 6-2 back in 2005, Sanchez de Luna may have improved a little since then but the Spaniard is making only his third main draw appearance and he is more used to playing at a much lower level. Chela should prove too steady despite Sanchez de Luna looking very comfortable in final qualifying.

The talented Wawrinka gets a nice first-up match here in little-known late bloomer in Sanchez-de Luna (who we might call JASDL due to his longest name in history!!). The Swiss was on fire in Indian Wells, struggled against Soderling in Miami, but rebounded to notch up two big wins for his country over the unlikely Belarussians. Those long-gruelling 4 and 5 set matches took its toll on Stan who succumbed badly late in his match against Robredo and that form was proven not too flashy as the Spaniard one only one game against Nalbandian who was in turn belted by Federer after claiming the first set. His record on clay is respectable and made the quarters here in 05 and and the semis in 06, and has the game to pull apart the local boy here. He has a stylish backhand, a very aggressive and penetrating forehand, and moves around the court particularly well. Sanchez-de Luna is used to playing all of his tennis on the much lower levels and will find the class simply too rich. The model's predicted chance for the Spaniard here are well over-rated.
