Roll out the red carpet - Govortsova recovered from a scary early break against the struggling Turk Ipek Senoglu to get the prize but with an unflattering 6-3 6-2 scoreline. The erratic Belarussian is my least favourite player as we all know, and it really amazes me how she wins some of the matches she does. She hits lots of loopy rubbish from the back of the court particularly on the weak backhand side, and tries to justify her liking at the net with some unflattering approaches. She is rarely assertive out on the court and always looks like a duck in a shooting gallery ready to be knocked off. Nathalie Vierin scored an upset win over the struggling Rodionova but will be pleased at coming frmo a set behind given that she was on a 4-match losing streak. The Italian is a journeywoman who is more accustomed to the ITF level and despite having an unfavourable record on the dirt, she did boast wins last year over Voskoboeva, Nakamura, the promising Dentoni and suffered narrow losses to Cetkovska, Zakopalova and Klepac. I think even Govortsova would beat Rodionova the way she is playing at the moment, so given those circumstances (Nathalie's win overstated) I think the Belarussian should actually win. Get a snapshot everybody - this won't happen again: Olga to win.

The usually-consistent Rodionova has been dealt some heavy blows in recent times. The uncertainty surrounding her real country (Russia or Australia) might be playing on her mind if results such as a 0 & 2 result against Jankovic, a 4 & 3 loss to Dzehalevich, and two absolute maulings by young gun Alize Cornet and tour veteran Ruano Pascual (1 & 3) are anythnig to go by. Anastasia is listed at $1.30 which is ridiculous in my opinion given her form and the fact that Vierin has won the first set on both of their two previous meetings. The Italian, admittedly, has struggled at lower levels but did take it to Rodionova only a week ago in Rome. Be weary with your stake on Rodionova even though I think she should win the value of $2.80 about Vierin is definitely worth more than the opposite considering the reward-for-risk factor.
