| | i don´t think this is a lock by any means, i think benesova has gone off the boil somewhat and KF has proven she can in on clay. This is a no bet for me |

| | My pick of this match is Flipkens who has more experience in WTA tour and in playing on clay. Flipkens made significant progress and now she is able to get to final round in RG. I choose her with 4/10. |

| | Flipkens began the year pretty well with some decent ITF results but, after stunning Lucie Safarova in the first round at Estoril, was smashed by the unlikely Maret Ani in a disappointing and error-riddled affair. How much that shatters her confidence remains to be seen, and don't forget she has lost her last 5 singles rubbers in Fed Cup and boasts an uninspiring 2-5 indoors in FC (3-9 overall). Castano, a gritty but inconsistent tour battler, has won 22 out of the 30 singles matches she had played for her country admittedly against predominantly low ranked countries (because Columbia don't usually get to the main group stages). The Columbian has endured some disappointing results so far this year on both the hard courts and clay swing but does have the ability to step it up when she gets on a roll. Flipkens has a fairly restricted game and struggles to hold her serve on a conistent basis, and if Columbia are going to figure prominently here Castano must win this because Wickmayer looks like the trump card for the Belgians. I'll take a punt on the value here in Catalina. |
