| | BOVINA IS IN A GREAT FORM AND SCHRUFF IS IN A POOR ONE... For me, Elena Bovina is the choice... |

| | I'm favouring Perebiynis in this match after her performance in beating Medina Garrigues, Schruff is well below that standard and should fall apart providing Perebiynis plays like last night. |

| | Young star Tamira Paszek is seeded 32 here, surprising considering some of the quality of players ranked above her seemingly unwarranted. The Austrian should have beaten Jankovic in that erpic Aus Open first round match where she served for the match 5 times, then was rattled by a switched-on Patty Schnyder in Doha. She has been resting up and keeping the workload pretty light heading into the bigger tournaments, with her main focus the Wimbledon grand slam. This young girl can play - she has quite a good serve, but is more renowned for her booming groundstrokes with which she doesn't take a backward step. Julia Schruff has been a battler on the tour for a few years now and beat two seeds during qualifying before gritting it out for a hard-fought win over the revived Catalina Castano. She's yet to lose a set here this week, and registered a win over her more highly fancied opponent on clay in Amelia Island last year, but Paszek is much more at home on these harder surfaces and the German is going to have little time to cope with the missiles that get thrown her way. |

| | Danger game with two German players - a country that is really struggling to produce any decent players on the WTA aside from the promising Sabine Lasicki who performed surprisingly well at Aus open (d Safina) and in Fed Cup (d Davenport). Schruff is the lesser credenitally player here, but Muller in my opinion is very sub standard and has always seemed tro me that her ranking has over-flattered her. She is no more than just a good hitter of the ball with very little variation and adaptability, and lacks a big weapon. Schruff is a consistent type who has known to surprise in the past, and she did win this encounter between the two 3 years ago. Schruff impressed with a demolition of Maret Ani in the opener, whilst Muller had it a little more tough with a player ranked outside the top 300 meaning I will lean towards Schruff in what should be a steer-clear game betting wise. |

| | Both German players who progressed through qualifying. Kloesel beat Bardina, Namigata and Manasieva whilst SChruff outplayed Wlodarczak, Ozegovic and U Radwanska. Kloesel's form is stronger, but she has been beaten by her compatriot in 2 sets in their last 2 matches. Hard to call, but I'll go with Kloesel in a battle of two sub-standard players who will lose second round regardless of the result here. |
