| | Goerges looks a good bet to me as well, although most other things that look like good bets to me lose. She should win this one. |

| | Bremond will be celebrating her 29th birthday when she takes to the court in her 19th consecutive Grand Slam event. She was a Wimbledon QFist and was perched in the top 35 last February, but things have since gone pear-shaped for the Frenchwoman with a reduced schedule and even more limited success. She has beaten the likes of Saurez Navarro, Parmentier, Sprem and Vinci in recent times, but her preparation post Wimbledon was a solitary claycourt match in which she was mauled by Koryttseva. She has recovered from a ligament strain and was reportedly training very hard for Cincy in which she eventually didn't get to - perhaps to be more fresh for this more important Grand Slam. Julia Goerges' attacking game is very much conjucive to this sort of surfaces, but the German has been disappointing the last couple of weeks losing to Larsson in Sweden when in a winning position then narrowly scraping past two qualifying stages in New Haven before bowing out to Martinez Sanchez (on a hardcourt!). The youngster has not produced the goods on hardcourts as yet, and despite a decent serve thanks to a fairly tall figure and some big groundstrokes she can mix the sublime with the ridiculous. Experience is much in favour of Seve who will be looking to re-enter the top 100 with a few solid wins here this week, and if she can serve well and keep good depth off the ground she may find Goerges capitulate mentally and physically. |

| | Looks a fantastic bet to me this one. Bremond who has hardly played and struggled with injury problems should really struggle with the pace the youngster will set here. Georges will be confident coming into this. |

| | Goerges really showed big improvement this year(especially in Portroz) and i think it's the better of the two.. |
