Linetskaya has won a staggering one WTA match in her previous 13 attempts spanning two and a half years. She came onto the scene several years back as a promising prospect, but injuries and wayward form got the better of her. She made the Round of 16 back here in 05 when she beat Sucha and Frazier en route to a loss to Mauresmo, but that is a thing of the past. Luxembourg stalwart Anne Kremer, a veteran of the tour at 32, had a fantastic year at Melbourne Park last year. After qualifying over two seeded opponents, she then ousted Krajicek in the first round before last year giving Serena an almighty fright before going down 7-6 6-2. She hits very solid from the back of the court, and despite the lack of weaponry on serve, should have the patience and match fitness to outlast her rusty opponent.
