| | Thats a great servicegame to 5-5 in a tough spot on a windy centrecourt.
So why displaying so much negativity towards yourself when winning an important game to 30? It is just going to enforce bad feelings when serving for 6-6 or later in tiebreak. Sports psychology 101 for Elena now pls! |

| | Horrible performance by Elena - beating herself in the most brutal way. How can she still be nervous in 2nd set with all her experience?
She clawed herself up to top-5 in the world without any serve. That is impressive and speaks volume about her groundstrokes, speed and stamina. I can understand if she is happy with that and enjoying some really great earnings. But why not strive higher and get a real coach who can learn you about body language and not feeding your opponent with energy. If she could force herself to stop making a show of disappointment every time she misses an opportunity (and looking at mama for sympathy) and instead soldier on to win the next point without losing energy she would discover that she would also feel less nervous. Control your emotions!
Why have your mother as coach when you easily could afford an professional?
I don't trust Venus' stamina so I'm still hoping for a third set... |

| | Venus might have looked impressive this far but hasn't she had a pretty easy way this far: Cavaday, Keothavong, Martinez Shanchez, Kleybanova and Tanasugarn: which one of those could be expected to really test her?
Dementieva (the first seeded opponent for Venus) has a very strong defense and will put pressure on most of Venus' servegames - but will of course also suffer from her own inadequate serve. I'm thinking three sets and the winner 50/50 so my bet must be for the underdog. |

| | hello all I am new here, I think i will opt for a Serena and Dementieva final, Dementieva's ground stroke will hopefully carry her to the final. |

| | Dementieva let another convincing lead slip in the previous round against a fatigued Nadia Petrova only this time to recover and take the deciding set. Venus is arguably looking the most impressive out of the bunch and is definitely the one to beat here. She has been so hard to play against from the back of the court and apart from a few jitters on serve, cannot be falted. She ended the hopes of giant-killer Tamarine Tanasugarn pretty easily and will now be looking ahead to evenging previous defeats to sister Serena here in the final. You get the impression that Dementieva's serve will come under constant attack by the American so a high first serve percentage will be key. If Venus plays consistently she will win this match in my opinion but once again Elena is no mug and is no great respector of Venus reputation and it could turn out to be a lot closer than many predict. Dementieva 11/4 Williams 1/4. |
