No. 8 Agnieszka Radwanska is tired of being drawn against her younger sister Urszula and is threatening not to play her if it occurs again. Agnieszka crushed Urszula 6-1, 6-1 in the first round of Sydney, the fourth consecutive time the sisters have faced off in the first round. "It's just the worst feeling playing against your sister, especially because we're very close and have been practicing together for 17 years and traveling together," Agnieszka told the Sydney Morning Herald. "Somehow we play again against each other, the fourth time in a row [in the first round]. We said the next time I think we're just going to pack and go home because this is ridiculous."

Urszula added: ''It's just such bad luck. You can't avoid it, but it's unbelievable. I hope it's not going to happen again.''

Agnieszka Radwanska, who was one spot out of the seedings this week, followed her good friend Wozniacki into the semis with a hard-fought 75 63 win over another German, Kristina Barrois. Barrois, playing in her first Premier quarterfinal, pushed Radwanska to the limits in the one-hour, 17-minute first set; she led 3-1 the second set when Radwanska won five games in a row.

"It's always tough to play here, not just because it's my first tournament on clay but also the draw is always really strong," Radwanska said. "I'm happy with my performance. Kristina was tough on clay, slicing and hitting lots of topspin - I was in trouble in both sets. I just tried to serve well and be aggressive."

Radwanska, who is now into her first WTA semifinal since San Diego last summer, was asked what she would be doing with her day off on Good Friday. "I think everything's going to be closed so there won't be much to do," the Polish No.1 responded. "I'm afraid I'm going to be stuck in my room!"

There are a chances that Agnieszka Radwanska will play at the Australian Open. Here is my translation of a polish article (the most important news):

Instead of going on exotic vacations, Agnieszka Radwanska is undergoing rehabilitation in Cracow. There are effects yet, because she've put down the cruthes and she's training on... a chair. Perhaps she'll get back into shape yet before Australian Open.
- Still, the start in the Grand Slam, early in the season, we treat in terms of dreams. Agnieszka's foot is healing quickly, so there's a chance to play. But we won't do anything by force - says Robert Radwanska (her father and coach).
Agnieszka has been practicing on a chair for the last week. She sits or relie an injured leg on a chair and hits the balls that way. All of this is, that she could train her hands.
Due to rehabilitation, she abandoned a tennis holidays on a tropical island and start typical tennis training. But because of the pain in her foot, she still avoids running and only hits the ball from a standing position. "I'm surprised, that her foot is healing so fast. It's six weeks from surgery, so I've allowed for training and possible start in January. Of course there's a dilemma, but if we won't try, we won't know on what position we are" said Dr. Mariusz Bonczar, which operated Radwanska.
The familly of Radwanska decided that they will leave to Australia, when the tennis season starts. Ula starts in AO qualifies. "If the pain in Agnieszka's foot won't stop, at least she'll be training in a good conditions" said her coach.

A follow-up to @hejhula's earlier post:

Agnieszka Radwanska needs to undergo foot surgery and is expected to be out for three months, reports the Polish Times. She will miss the Australian Open and return in February or March.

Radwanska played Tokyo and Beijing with a stress fracture in her foot before ending her season to rest the injury.

Agnieszka Radwanska will undergo a surgical procedure on her right hand to rid herself of the pain that has caused her problems for some time.

She is currently the alternate in Doha, and may well be called upon should Wozniacki pull out as her father hinted she may, but will undergo the medical activity as soon as her committment inside the Qatari capital is over.

Aggie Radwasnka has missed her chance to qualify for Doha with a disappointing loss to Maria Kirilenko in Moscow yesterday.

Not only did the Pole go down tamely in straight sets being broken early in both sets, but Kiri was returning from a knee injury and had never won a match in her native tournament in four previous appearances.

After the match, she said; "I was feeling a bit tired and exhausted. I was trying hard because I was still in with a chance of qualifying for Doha, but it wasn't my day today. Maria didn't make any mistakes today. I really want to play against her fully fit - I was a little bit injured before the US Open and now I played 14 matches coming into this match, so I think I need a third match against her!"

Despite being out of contention, Radwanska has sealed her spot as the alternate for the coveted end of season event, and gien their are some clouds over qualifiers Azarenka, Wozniacki and Venus not to mention Jankovic who is trying to fend off Zvonareva for the eighth spot, then it's not totally impossible that Radwanska may play next week.
