Might pay to take care with backing Petzschner for a while at least.
This is an excerpt from a story by AAP:

German Davis Cup player Philipp Petzschner was upset by qualifier Marsel Ilhan of Turkey, then stunned reporters with bizarre answers to questions about the match.
Asked to comment on Ilhan's unexpected 6-2 4-6 7-6 (7-5) victory, Petzschner replied: "I hope that HSV reaches the Europa League this season."
When asked to describe how he managed to double-fault on match point, Petzschner again referred to the Hamburger SV Bundesliga football club, saying it had acquired good new players.
Petzschner has been under fire for a lacklustre performance in Germany's Davis Cup loss to France and for three straight first-round losses.

Petzschner beats Bogdanovic 6-4 6-4, then retires in next match against Phau while losing 5-2 in 1st set, & pulls out of Rome too. Tricky with top players in these challengers - Becker lost in straight sets in 1st round to Mecir (rank 498)! Better to look at the mid-rankers (70-150) i think.

i suppose u could say that, but on the other hand the guy is mental jelly

even though he'll likely be the best-ranked player in this event, he probably won't get close to winning it

Petzschner withdrew from his scheduled match with Steve Darcis yesterday in Vienna, he was replaced by lucky loser Michael Berrer who eventually won the match. The thing is that the German didn't pull out because of his ongoing troubles with his neck and shoulder that have plagued him in the second half of the year, this time he said it was due to a left calf injury that he sustained during training.

Might pay to leave Philipp Petzschner alone for the rest of the season if you are a betting man. Not only has he dropped a few ranking spots as outlined below by arfster, but the German is still definitely struggling with a neck strain that has bothered him since late last month.

Prior to his first round Shanghai match with compatriot Mayer, Petzschner was a big drifter on Betting Exchange website Betfair, a clear indication that a few knew the state of his fitness concerns. Throughout the match, he was reportedly flexing the neck and moving around his shoulder and looked very uncomfortable on serve which probably explains why Mayer - not usually noted for his exploits on return - had such damning statistics in that area.
