| | I love Rainer Schuettler, such a nice man. After his exploits at Wimbledon he will still be on cloud 9 and he will sweep his compatriot aside here in my opinion. Beck is a decent player himself, decent serve, big groundstrokes but Schuettler is just better. Beck 11/8 Schuettler 8/15. |

| | Following his impressive wimbledon there have been calls to allow him into the Olympics. Will be absolutely pumped here to beat one of his compatriots and challengers for that Olympic spot. |

| | Scheutller looked very consistent through Wimbeldon. That consistency should give him the edge on clay, Beck is ropey. |

| | Schwank has been very impressive in the challenger events and he impressed me further by defeating Moya at Roland Garros. Providing he doesn't mess around he should have too much quality for Beck. |

| | I fully expect Schwank to come through this match... im not sure it will as straight forward as the odds suggest, i for one even as a Schwank fan will not be taking the starting price here as it is too low... |

| | Schwank won this match up just last week in the Lugano Challenger. The Argentine had some problems against Coria in the previous round and barring the nineteen double faults Coria coughed up would probably have been out of the tournament as Coria was winning all of the baseline rallies that went any distance. Beck was forced the distance against compatriot Brands losing the first set to a solitary break but a break in each of the remaining sets was enough for the big serving Beck to get the job done. Schwank did have some problems with his second serve in the first round particularly early in the match and with Beck looking to shorten the points it is likely he will be attacking the second ball of the Argentine. Beck's ground game isn't remotely comparible to Corias and that will be a relief to Schwank. Beck's game is probably better suited to quicker surfaces but he has won six titles on clay at lower levels. Schwank has looked like a decent find on the clay this year and he has now won thirteen lower level titles twelve on clay. Schwank is far more consistent than Beck from the baseline, Beck tends to go for the killer punch earlier in a rally and can sometimes look for a winner from a poor position rather than work an opening. Schwank is certainly the more likely winner but Beck cannot be dismissed easily and the German could profit if Schwank is misfiring on serve. 1.3 looks too steep a price to pay for Schwank in this match and I'll sit this one out. |

| | Schwank is a player i follow with great intrest an what i`ve seen of him he can climb quite in the rankings.Schwank clay court form this season is an impressive played 40 won 30 the majorty of them at challenger level but as they say you can only beat what`s in front of you.Schwank good form won him three challenger titles (Cremona,Rome,an Bordeaux)then he went to roland garros reaching the 3rd round on route beating (Moya) before loseing to Mathieu which in my opinon deserved to go to five sets just showed abit of unexperince but that will come no doubt.Beck this season has played just 10 matches on clay winning 5 of them..all five of his wins came at(Dresden) where he won the tourne but every other clay tourne he`s played he hasn`t got past the first round.Schwank beat him also reacently with ease an i confident he will do it again..just dont start of the way you did against Coria lol!! |
