Richard Gasquet (FRA) d. Lukas Rosol (CZE) 6-7(7) 6-2 6-2 at Stuttgart ATP (GER) - Clay, Round of 16 <<
Based on the first set Rosol is flattered by 188 ranking. He looks about 500 standard. Gasquet lost the first set from 6-1 tiebreak lead, and he was playing terribly. Rosol did not play well enough to fight back from 6-1 against anyone, Gasquet's fault again, like Wimbledon. He will prob still win though because Rosol is that bad.

Good value for Rosol here. Model giving min buy-in at 3.57 and with 6.50 up for grabs it's worth a small punt. Gasquet prone to loosing to players he should beat.

For various reasons, this is not a favorite play: Prior to Wimbledon, Gasquet was getting upset left and right on clay. He had huge points to defend there which speaks for his good form. He now is back on the clay and has to hit the ground running in an event that has no points for him to defend. He could very well breeze through, but if things get tough against a capable opponent, I don't expect a huge fight from him.

I'm going medium on Rosol here.

Rosol the world #188 has won his last eight on clay but faces an uphill task against Gasquet who should have regained a good deal of confidence from his exploits on grass. Although his quarter final capitulation against Murray will have given him a fair few sleepless nights as he failed to serve out for a straight sets victory in that match. The Frenchman has hardly played on clay this year which has to be a slight concern but the fact he has gone deep in Masters events on the surface in the past and won Gastad a couple of years ago following the grass season should allay those fears. Difficult to say just what Rosol achieved against Fischer in the last round, he broke five times and won 50% of return points but did drop his own serve twice suggesting Gasquet should have far too much in his armoury for the Czech.
