| | Tsonga out
Jo-Wilfried Tsonga held a press conference at 6 pm on Saturday in a hotel in Paris to announce that he was withdrawing from the tournament. This year's Australian Open finalist will have to have an operation on his right knee and will also miss Wimbledon. The No.14 seed will be replaced by a lucky loser who will face American qualifier Scoville Jenkins in the first round.
No doubt kingy9494 will be withdrawing his ridiculous remark!

Tsonga 1.14
No upset possible in my mind... |

| | I hope the coward Tsonga gets beat here after withdrawing from his semi-finals match recently against Simon. |

| | Tsonga's withdrawal is yet another example this week of players having little respect for the fans or the organisers of this tournament. I agree with user name's comments too. He could have won this tournament and he almost certainly will not win RG. He is quite an arrogant sort of guy so the fact that he's lost some fans today won't bother him. I hope he gets knocked out in the first round at RG as it may make him think about what he's done today. Rant over. |

| | dbwinner, the players do what is best for themselves. I know as punters we think they should think of us. WHY SHOULD THEY? Tsonga has no points to defend at RG and a 3/4 round showing would no doubt push him up the rankings. He should be well to the fore during the grass season and with no points to defend on the US swing will believe he has a chance of securing his place in the top 10 or even the Masters Cup. |

| | Why shouldn't Tsonga retire if he's got an injury concern with a Grand Slam coming up after the weekend? He's played well this week and given a lot of effort which is more than can be said for some/most players. Better he does it prematch than put on an annoyingly weak display and worsen his injury. The players aren't invincible. |

| | Casablanca website isn't working... and there is absolutely nothing on the Atp site... but Tsonga really disappointed me with this action.
This was destined to be his first clay tournament, and he picks resting for RG which he surely won't win, in front of winning a tournament in Casablanca. I just can't understand that... |

| | I just checked Casablance website and it says that Simon won match in walkover against Tsonga. Surely Tsongs just saving himself for next week. Pity as he was at great odds in this match to win. |
