Grosjean has announced that he'll retire at the end of the season.

Grosjean has accepted a wildcard into next week's SAP Open in San Jose

Ahead of his first-round match with fellow veteran Nicolas Kiefer at home in Lyon, France's Sebastien Grosjean had this to say about his seemingly inevitable retirement from the sport;

"My goal is to play two more years. The weeks that will will be very important to see where I am. I could not really compete for the last year and a half so I'm currently managing my body. It's frustrating. I always have some pain. But now the main problem is my level of recovery. I can play. I can serve. But the next day, the shoulder is a little heavy. It gets a little sore. I played for ten months with pain. It was very difficult. I knew I would have to take time away but it's just taken a little longer than expected. Now, the goal is to just play matches."
