| | If the 1st set goes to TB, it will be interesting to see if the Oldie-but-Goldie still has snake-snaps in his serves! Don't forget that Lapentti was ranked no. 6 around 1999-2000. :-)

| | Imo, Juan Monaco had problems to beat Jonathan Eysseric. I didn't watch the match, but the Scoreboard told me so. Maybe Eysseric made the match of his life, but still Juan Monaco was a little bit weak (in my eyes).
Well, Nicolas Lapentti manage to defeat the Wild Card Mathieu Rodriques in 2 straight sets. Those facts are not very much to base a prediction on, even if earlier meetings gives Juan a 3-0 leading. But that doesn't say very much either of the players capacitate today. It just a guess, but i think that Nicolas Lapentti age (about 8 years older) gives him more stability and routine, which can give him a big chance to win today.
Yes, perhaps it will be a tight match, a thrilling yo-yo 3-setter, but my choice is the man from Ecuador.

| | Rodrigues a new talent... 23 years old ? only 2 matchs this year, 2 defeats. Lappenti lost against Ouanna, a good player, but won against Karlovic the round before. Don't judge a player only on one match, it arrives that a player plays bad sometimes, or is not a lot motivated, that's sport. |

| | rodrigue will give everything in this match, seeing lapentti loosing to ouanna, make me wondering about his capacity, rodrigues is a new talent, not yet of course but he will give everything here, ouanna ranked 150 did it few days ago, he will be very excited
