Ivan Dodig battled past Spanish left-hander Feliciano Lopez 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 in just less than two hours. The No. 56-ranked Dodig is through to his second ATP World Tour semi-final of the season; he went on to win his maiden title in Zagreb (d. Berrer) in February. The 26-year-old Dodig has the unenviable task of attempting to derail Nadal’s remarkable clay-court run, which has seen the Manacor native go unbeaten in the 32 matches he has played since losing to Robin Soderling in the Roland Garros fourth round in 2009. "It's been a great week for me; I've played some great matches and I'm really looking forward to playing one more match," said Dodig, who was the only player to take a set off eventual champion Djokovic at the Australian Open. "It will be a great experience for me. Already I started in Australia playing against Djokovic, who is one of the best in the world, so now Nadal in Barcelona. He is the greatest player especially on clay. I will have to try and play my best tennis and enjoy the match."

The 26 year old is through to his third ATP World Tour quarter-final of the season and went on to win his maiden title in Zagreb (d. Berrer).

Returning finalist Robin Soderling fell in his first clay-court match of 2011, upset by World No. 56 Ivan Dodig 6-2, 6-4 in one hour and 22 minutes. Soderling, a winner of three ATP World Tour titles this season, managed to capitalise on just two of his nine break points while Dodig went five for seven on his opportunities. The victory over the World No. 5 marked Dodig’s first in five matches against a Top 10 opponent. The 26 year old won his first ATP World Tour title earlier this year at his hometown tournament in Zagreb.

Apparently Dodig went nuts in the Kolding final and got disqualified. Wasn't content with that though ...... he smashed the runnersup trophy before leaving :-)
