| | Kohlschrieber would have sailed this match. Bachinger has just thrown away second set from having 0-40. Silva is a lucky loser and they're both showing why they haven't made it in ATP. |

| | Kohlschreiber all the way here to defeat his fellow German Bachinger. Kohlschreiber pushed Davydenko all the way last week before succumbing. He had quality victories over Kiefer and Acasuso. If you need more evidence he is the defending champion of this tournament with great wins over Baghdatis (SF) and Youzhny (Final). Although Bachinger can be a handy player and probably should be ranked a lot lower than 165, he has been really struggling on the Challenger circuit lately. Kohlschreiber to win, but there is no value at all with his prohibitive odds. |

| | Easy road for Berrer here - the big serving lefty is a good athlete and has a very decent single handed backhand. He hasn't put it all together of late but against his less experienced and less credenitalled countryman, expect the occasion to be a little too hot for Bachinger. He should atone for his 3-match losing streak in straight sets. |

| | Bachinger took Baghdatis to 3 sets on clay last year but it was 5 months after that before he showed anything like that form and it was indoors where he went on to win the Louisville challenger beating some useful opposition in Young, Isner and Kendrick. His form since then has been pretty poor, mostly at challenger level but perhaps he needs to be indoors to show his best! When Berrer looks at some of the other ties in the first round he must think his birthday has come early to be playing such a lowly ranked qualifier. He has a useful serve and is competent off the ground, he hasn't been in the greatest form this year but gets a first class chance to reach the second round here. |
