Tursunov has hit a good patch of form and this should discount his erraticism. I feel he should progress within 5 sets

Can't see anything but a straight victory for the motivated "half-american" Tursonov!

Victor plays a good season and with his serve on parade he can keep a match open even on hard courts but i doubt he could do this over 3 sets here against a guy like Tursunov. Victors record on Grand Slams does not look convictive. You can speculate that the Russian loses his nerves, what often happens - than odds around 4 are o.k. - but you have to keep him under constant pressure forcing him to the edge and i dont know Victor has the weapons for that. The odds reflect the chances very well IMO.

Even though Hane is my countryman, I am convinced he can"t win today.

Tursunov slogged it out for over 3 hours as he battled past promising Argentinian youngster Eduardo Schwank. The Sacramento resident is very much at home playing on hardcourts in the States, and is in good enough form to enter the top 20 with a good fortnight here. The Russian time-bomb produced 13 aces (though 11 double faults included), won 85% of first serves and not only was he formidable from the back he also used the forecourt well where he won 16 of 20 approaches. Hanescu had a similarly tough battle with another grinding claycourter, the big Romanian outlasted Montanes in 2hr 8mins he also produced 13 aces and won 72% of all points on serve. He won't get a more contrasting match though here - the weak serving and moderate groundstrokes of the Spaniard are replaced with the brute force and firepower of Tursunov who can hit anybody off the court on his day. He is known to have his lapses in concentration and the occasional dummy-spit, but the Dmitry I've seen post-Wimbledon has been more a guy of focus and determination rather than flashy brilliance. Hanescu, in comparison, is fairly limited off the ground and unlike Tursunov he doesn't move overly well around the court. The Romanian will need to approach the net as often as possible to avoid the baseline rallies with an overpowering Russian, though in saying that net-rushing tactics haven't proved fruitful for Lopez, Mahut, Eaton, Kiefer, Anderson and Guccione who have fallen to the 26th seed this year. Look for Tursunov to expose the many weaknesses of Hanescu and given he has won his past 7 sets that have gone to 5-5 or beyond don't expect him to be choking this time around.

Hanescu won`t be able to handle the power of Dimitry from the back of the court. The Russian played some good tennis against Schwank an i see him carrying on that form
