Tsonga didnt look right last match (despite the result), wincing at certain moments. I dont believe he is 80% fit and Moya will be a much tougher test for him than Ventura.

Tsonga is a miracle man surely. He is a miracle of a tennis player yes, you heard me right >) He has great power, brilliant touch, is an all-round player and can defeat anybody. His brilliant athleticism outmatches the one of Nadal surely! He has a potential for a top 3 player and he will get to it one day. Moya is no class for him, if he shows anywhere near of what he is capable of.

1.94 for a win of Tsonga now at betfair - in this years spring nobody could have dreamt of such odds. But times have changed a little and its important to stress this before this match as thedestroyer did it. I watched only a couple of games of Tsongas match versus ventura and i think he was lucky to play such an uninspired hard court player like Ventura which never was a real challenge. Tsonga lacks imo a little the old "powertrain" and i dont think that his athletics are at 100 %. He has to gear up against the old warrior otherwise it could be a long way. Will be a interesting thing to watch for sure.

Jo was a little rusty in the beginning against Ventura falling in the first set,but then he started to find form and everything came to normal and the talented frenchman won it in four..I didn't have the chance to see Carlos against the LL Qureshi, but it must have been a tight match..I really think the Tsonga's desire to come back to his winning ways from the start of the year and to get his old form back would make him win that match and progress even further in the draw..

It has been great to have Tsonga back here and I hope he can recreate what he did at the AUS Open or atleast go deep into the tournament as he is a brilliant player to watch who is unstoppable when in the flow, just ask Nadal ;-). He should win this if he can get into his play but I wouldn't be suprised to see him drop a set as he lacks match practise.
Old man Moya has no chance agaisnt a fully fit and firing Tsonga.

I remember the exciting style of play from the Aus Open. I hope Tsonga can recreate the same exciting play here.

Tsonga passed his first test after coming back from a knee injury as he came from a set behind to defeat Ventura despite "not playing his best tennis at all". The loveable Frenchman was cool under pressure as he always seems to be, but he remained realistic about his chances of a repeat Australian Open. Having said that, the man likened to Muhammed Ali produced 9 aces and won 84% of first serve points and looked very sure of himself at the net where he has so many skills and great net coverage (he won 71% of the 42 approaches). Veteran Carlos Moya was locked in a tense battle with serve-volleying Pakistani Qureshi before he coasted through a third set breaker and ran out the fourth in style. The Spaniard was visibly frustrated at times on the return as Qureshi mustered up 33 aces and lost just 19% of first serve points, but Moya remained cool and won 91% and 70% behind his own deliveries and never once faced a break point. But add a marvellous baseline game, superior skills in the forecourt and ten times better athleticism to Qureshi and you have Tsonga. The Frenchman really does lack a weakness aside from his slight inexperience - he really is just the complete package as he showed Nadal at the AO. The backhand is as steady as a rock and just as dangerous, the forehand has pure class written all over it, he moves as if the tennis court is just a metre wide and the serve and the volley are probably still the two big weapons to his game...scary stuff really. He is destined to become a world number one injuries aside, and I'm satisfied that the rustiness will have mostly disappeared. Moya will test him with his serve, but his over-reliance on the forehand and some questionable lateral movement in his latter days make him susceptible to such a crafty, accurate and powerful player such as Tsonga. Probably won't be straight sets, but I see only one winner and if it is the case Djokovic could be one very afraid young man.

The one question which will be asked in this match is whether Tsonga is fit enough and has enough match feel under his belt to defeat Moya. As we know Tsonga was started the year in unbelievable form reaching the final of AO and probably the only player so far to destroy Nadal. Since then very up and down results as well as a knee operation has limited Tsonga in terms of matches. Moya is in the twilight of his career and it will not help that his game is based behind the baseline, which will test him far more physically as time ticks by. Some glimpses of the old Moya this year mixed with losses you would not expect. Both players dropped a set in the 1st round and both looked a little rusty. Tsonga's bigger serve, weight of shot and reach, along with the quicker court, should give Tsonga the upper hand and a 3rd round beckons.

Moya look just like me, but I'm near barbeque with beer in my hand.
And Moya should do the same.
Tsonga, and I think easyier then Mathieu.

This is NOT an old man's game. Carlos is better swinging to the US bars for his next conquest because he won't be doing much here
