Login to give Aces		 Everything over 1.5 for Lu offers some value here for me. On a good day Flavio, who has a serve below the quality of Lapenttis, can trouble players like Bohli on this surface, a guy who was able to beat Lu this year. After his match versus Hernych i would be cautious. The italian has no real weapons for this surface but a lot of patience and Lu has to reduce his error rate otherwise it could be a hard way.

Login to give Aces		 Flavia Cipolla used all his claycourt expertise to win a survival of the fittest against a like-typed player in Jan Hernych in a 4hr 5min battle on an outside court on Day 2. The Italian was granted a lucky loser card when Mikhail Youzhny withdrew from the tournament, and he took his chance after going down 2 sets to 1 and despite producing a whopping 14 double faults (2 aces) and being broken on 9 occasions (one less than his opponent!). Yen-Hsun Lu also won a 5-set match, but he was opposing a rejuvinated and former top 10 player in Nicolas Lapentti in a match that lasted just 3 minutes less than Cipolla's. Lu struggled on serve in sets two and three but on the whole was fairly solid and compact against a player who refused to make any errors or really take the attacking to the Taiwanese. He is good quality player - moves very well, sound defense, good counter-attacking ability when the short ball arises and typical Asian grit and fight. Cipolla's 5-set match was the very first of his career which will raise concerns about his ability to back-up, and he has never made the third round of a Grand Slam. Lu should not change up his tactics from the first round because the Italian plays similar to Lapentti, and the man from Chinese Taipei knows that he can make waves here this week because he is in a quarter with Wawrinka who's not in peak form and Murray whom he beat at the Olympics.
