Did Stan have some beers in the break after he led 4-0 in the 2nd?

This one could go the distance but as often quality will finally prevail. Stan in 4 or 5 sets!

Wawrinka proved his knee problems a thing of the past doing the hard work to get past Bolelli in a hard-fought straight set encounter. The two hour workout was full of extended baseline rallies where Wawrinka came out trumps on the majority of occasions with his extra penetration, and the second-ranked Swiss certanily got value for money on serve producing 8 aces and winning 76% and 53% behind his first and second serves respectively. He now faces local boy Wayne Odesnik who was on court for some 3 hours prevailing in a tense fifth setter against unheralded Italian Fabio Fognini. The South African born American was a little lucky that Fognini choked at the end of the fifth set, because he won less points on first serve than his opponent, was gifted 12 double faults by the youngster and actually conceeded more break point chances on his own serve than he was on Fognini's. Odesnik can be a tricky lefty because he moves very nicely, can counter-punch the short ball and makes few unforced errors off the ground, but he will be trying to beat Wawa at his own game. Odesnik is just 3-4 at this event, has won just four of his past 10 at home suggesting the expectation is a burden and has been past the second round at a GS just once in 11 visits at this year's French. Wawrinka has a much better pedigree on this surface and if you look at the players who've beat him on it since the start of 2007 - Safin, Gonzo, Gicquel, Llodra, Ljubicic, Nadal - they all have big serves and possess big weaponry off the ground that often overpower Wawrinka. Odesnik nowhere near falls into that category and he'll see his US Open campaign come to another grinding halt at the hands of the 10th seed. Definite one for the multi's.

Wawrinka showed his superior hardcourt abilities again over Bolelli to see him off in straight sets. Odesnik played out the first 5-setter of this years tournament coming from 2-1 down against the bog standard Italian Fognini. There's no question in my mind that Wawrinka has somewhat dropped something off the form that saw him crack the top 10 and I think he is a vulnerable favourite here. Odesnik is a confident player, moves well, serves well and has the US crowd behind him I would certainly not even consider Stan at the current price and I think Odesnik could well pay out here at definitely overstated odds.

Wawrinka desptie not having the greatest of yrs should be buzzing after olympic gold. He is usually a consistent reliable player. You know what you get from. Odesnik has the home crowd factor and will be looking to make an assault on the top 100, but i feel Stan is 1 game too soon for him and he will struggle to maintain his serve and chase shadows for majority of this match up
