That's when the odds are even shorter and a player like Blake can just pull his worst out at any moment and sting you even more. I'm still taking him here but only for half the stake I put against Young. |

The American was a little bewildered after the one-sided first set, with the lefty troubling him by often going back in behind Blake and mixing speeds on both his serve and groundies. Eventually the superior forehand artillery of Blake shun through and was much to thank for his total 54 winners, though not to be outdone Darcis was impressive in his tough 4-set win over the ultra-consistent Gremelmayr. He survived a barrage of 16 aces from the German and amazingly took all 7 of his break point chances which is what he'll be looking to do here against the home favourite Blake who as much as he can be lethal on serve it's also his major let-down. His focus will need to be on because the Belgian is quick, he has nice variety and touch like Young and he can produce the goods on his day. Having said that, the youngsters record at Grand Slam level is fairly poor and he's also never beaten a top 10 player. If James keeps his concentration on serve and when in front, he'll have simply too much firepower for Darcis but after R1 would anybody want to risk it? Wait till he shows more... |

I don't want to go into what I said before on here, but suggest you do take a look at whay I said (if you can) later, it could be profitable. |

On a sidenote, Bet365 is the worst Bookie I've come across for a long time. Their prices are diabolical compared to Wiliam Hill (my Bookmaker). If a player is 1/5 with Hills then they are around 1/8 with 365. Good coverage, daylight robbery with the quotes. Even Dick Turpin wore a mask. |

Btw as a B365 user I suggest you pay close attention to the live outside courts on skysports interactive Vs B365's scoreboard. |

In fact if he was an Australian, i would be proud of him.
He will account for Darcis and have more attention to detail to his game than Feliciano Lopez to his hair. |

| | Aug 26 2008 10:27:03 d.carson (Champion) 673 (3659) Posts 1652 (5588) Aces Login to give Aces | | Blake toyed around with Young a bit longer than he should have before obtaining a late break in the 5th set then to serve out. The usually reliable and determined 9th seeded American was twice a set up before complaicency set it allowing Young a way back but the power and experience shone through in the end. Darcis eventually found a way through the in-form Gremelmayr in 4 sets but his form leading into here is nothing to write home about. Blake is a relieved man and will kick on from last night. Blake on the US hardcourts, especially the US Open, is unbelievable difficult to beat and Darcis wont be beating him. He looks heavy Darcis, big edge in every area for the confident American. Would be an unthinkable upset if James were to bow out here - Take it from me he wont. |

He may be slightly drained, but when the adrenaline kicks in, his determination to do well here will allow him to optimally play. Darcis is very hit and miss and i dont think he has the overall quality to defeat blake here. Dont be surprised if james makes it a struggle, but he definitely is in the kind of form following the olympics that he would like to be in despite his loss to gonzalez |
