Ivo does seem to throw a wobbly in the GS but this year has seen him improve immeasurably. Past history is always an indicator but at some point someone like Ivo is going to go very deep in a GS and the US Open has to be his best chance. He was serving very well in the last game and when he's in the rhythmn there's not many who can stop him - ask Roger. Although Ivo burnt me in New Haven and I was cursing his name long into the night, I'll give him on last bash and if he mucks this up I'll slam dunk him myself.

I'd advise caution with this one, yes serra's is craphouse but Karlovic isn't the most reliable thing in the world either, especially at grand slams, his serve just needs to be a little off and his back to just an average atp player. I'd follow it live and trade if it looks like Karlovic's serve isn't on.

Kalo should win this comfortably.Really-he should.Should have to much firepower for Serra-really he should. But will he.$1.33 to win @bet365.I don't know.I have been burnt by this clown before.I will stick my money where my mouth is one more time & put my faith in Karlo. If he lose here he should chuck it in & go play basketball.

You guys! Talk about being mesmerised by a serve. Karlovic lost last week at New Haven to Luke Gregorc, ranked 434th in the world. At Wimbledon, he contrived to lose to Simon Stadler, ranked 172.
Just because he beat Jan Minar (who he?) does not mean that he can be trusted.
There is always value to be had backing against Karlovic in slams, and while Serra is no great shakes, he will have too much for Ivo. At 2/1, this one is great value!

On a good day Serra might steal a set but will never ever prevail in a best-of-5-match. Karlovic here with confidence!

Bueno Serra Mrs. Campbell...Old Movie with Sofia Loren and Telly Savalas, Peter Lauren, and Phil Silvers. What does this have to do with tennis? Not one thing! Serra in an upset.

Karlovic's serve will completely dominate Serra, the only way Serra can win is if Karolvics serve is off and if he can return well enough, his groundsrtokes have to be imaculate and on the top of his game to win this one, but for me karolvic will play too well.

Karlovic should stroll through, he's had a decent season with a few hiccups recently but serra is average at best on a hard court and I cant see him breaking Ivo at all. Fancy him in straight sets but didnt want the risk, so have a double with him and LU, 1.97 should be like printing cash!

Can anyone seriously see Serra taking 3 sets against Ivo Karlovic? I don't think he'll get 1 even and I'll be having a go at that. Karlovic cruised through his first round match while Serra came through against Rainer Shitler curtesy of a retirement. Despite suffering from Grand Slam-itis, Karlovic has a good chance this time with Nadal waiting in round 4 and he'll have been preparing well for this. I'd beat Serra using a Table Tennis racquet. Karlovic will race through his service games and it#ll feel like Serra is serving continuously. I say they should just award Karlovic his 6 on the board and let Serra serve 6 times. Might aswell. 3-0.

Florent Serra got through to the second run after Rainer Schuettler withdrew having lost 9 consecutive games and clearly struggling. The Frenchman did what he had to do and won 73% and 83% behind the first and seconds serves respectively, a big focus again for him here as he attempts to go head-2-head with Karlovic in a serve-out. The big Croat has overcome the Karlovitis that has dogged him in recent Grand Slam history by steamrolling Czech qualifier Jan Minar in just two hours. Ivo fired down 28 aces, lost just 6 points on the first serve the entire match but was even more impressive with the high-kicking second balls that often forced Minar to play a ball around his head. His tendency to shank a forehand wide or slump a slice backhand into the net were nowhere to be seen for a large majority of the match, and that will need to be the case here again with Serra who is very sound from the back, covers the court well and can counter-attack off the forehand wing. The Frenchman has lost this year to Zverev, Stepanek, Isner, Navarro and Vemic who have all used the serve-volley tactic successfully against him, and the 6'10" giant should see enough opportunities of Florent's mediocre serve to get the verdict in 4 and keep alive his hopes of opposing Nadal in R4.

Once again im confident in backing Karlovic against Serra.Karlovic come through a tight first set against Minar 7-5 being broke once but after that it was plain sailing for big Ivo.

Serra was on course to a fine win over Schuettler intill the German Ret,I feel tho Karlovic will hold serve alot easier than Serra an set up enough oppurtunity to come through
