Imo this match seems to be an easy one to predict (Silicon), but Melting Jurgen is a Jack-in-the-Box. My "Bank" knows that. A yodel and better serves and the victory goes to the Alps. However, Silicon is slightly better than Melting Jurgen... Looking H2H. No, I skip this match. Too risky imo.

Cilic has the potential to be higher in the rankings. His overall game is very astute and he has many weapons to bombard Melzer with. Melzer himself is no joke, and has been in relatively decent form with some decent wins. But cilic knows how to beat Melzer and will most likely prevail here

I like Melzer here. A strong run in China versus Lu and Wawrinnka ( guys which were rated here by some tipsters as strong favourites in this matches) should give him a boost in confidence. He will not underestimate Cilic here and he will like for sure the no pressure situation of the underdog. I know that Cilic has improved his attacking arsenal since last year but after his victory against a totally "out of order" TRod in Toronto he showed not the class to fill in the high ambitions, even his serve looked shaky. So like to make a shot on the player with the stronger uptrend.

 Cilic didn't play much.
I think he will be the winner.
But for me it's better to bet on games OVER.

Cilic has won both encounters this year one on hard court at the AO then backed it up with a narrow win at Queens on his favoured grass top. Just 7 breaks of serve have come about in those 5 sets of tennis which indicates that we should be yet again in for a serve-dominated affair. Cilic is a powerful man who's serve is heavy, while the lefty Melzer relies on variety, placement and the occasional rush into the net to take advantage of lofty replies. The 6th seeded Croatian was stopped short by silver medallist Gonzo at the Olympics, then benefited from the fatigue of Troicki as he spent just 10 minutes on court in his opening match. Melzer slugged it out with veteran Clement prevailling in 2 tight sets and producing 8 aces, over 60% of points won on both serves though did cough up 10 break opportunities which the Frenchman converted just 2. The Austrian is full of confidence on the back of his good run in Beijing and was a surprise QFist here in 2006, but in the past on hardcourts he has struggled to quell the power of similar types in Tsonga, Blake, Mathieu and del Potro. Cilic knows how to get the job done, has a decent record over the lefties and should find dictating points from the baseline much to his liking as he attempts to break into the top 30 for the first time in his career which could also assist him in being seeded for Flushing Meadows next week.

Marin Cilic is my Selection an also to win it Outright <8> (Betfair)

Cilic has beaten Melzer on both occasions without dropping a set but there last meating was very close. If you look back at there two meatings Cilic once again his main weapon was his serve at the A/Open he served 7 Aces an won 35/49=71% behind his first serve, then he improved that again the next time they met at Queens serving 9 Aces an winning 43/53= 81% behind the first serve that is top class serving what Melzer found out.Cilic hard court recold this year his won 11 lost 7 due to reaching the Q/Finals of Toronto where he really looked like was happy with his game.Cilic against fellow left handed players is good enough winning 6 out of 12 times.

Melzer confidence is high at the moment after he done his country proud reaching the Q/Finals at the Olympics (Lost to Nadal).Cilic has a big serve but Melzer won`t be that worried because already this year he has beaten some guys with big serves (Wawrinka,Ljubicic,Haase,Safin) but i feel Cilic has a massive future he has got the real deal.Awsome serve great forehand an a top class backhand which he have said to be his best shot an im backing him to come through

Tip: The difference in Match Rating between two players represents the average number of service games that separate them in a set of tennis as predicted by the Insight Model.
