Murray is his best fan! Cheers opponents's errors and discards their winners as fortuitous |

Theyr ability to keep theyr own serve can be discrace even for girls tennis. I bet this 2 guys will lose atleast 2 times they own serve each, and this match is gona last no less then 2 hours. Too bad i dont have it here in option, but if i'm right i expect some aces. |

On hardcourt though he is nowhere near so reliable so too risky for me as Wawrinka has the ability to beat him especially when Murray's second serve is underperforming as it seems to be at the moment. |

Wawrinka beat Marat Safin quite convincingly but Murray gets a confident vote from me here. Better serve, better movenent, more options available to him, just needs to turn up mentally in my opinion. |

As always, Safin's impatience got to him and Wawrinka's ability to keep the ball in play particularly on the bigger points ended up winning the day. Murray also had his glitches in R1 though against the veteran Johansson, after a breezy first set in which he lost just 2 points behind his first serve, the Brit needed to overcome a 0-3 double break as he reeled off 6 of the last 7 games to wrap up proceedings. He was a little tardy in this match but was moving well, though he will be definitely concerned with his horrible second serve conversion rate of just 31% which was low as 10% early into the second set. Murray has the definite edge on serve and with variety, but the Swiss has great depth and consistency from the baseline and is also extremely speedy (though the athleticism of Murray is nothing to be taken for granted). Previous matches have seen a 3-2 sway for Stan but Murray leads the hardcourt encounters by a 2-1 advantage though all of those went the distance. As always with Murray, the mental aspect is the question and as he showed against the Swede once he switched the light on there are few better momentum players than him - the problem is Wawrinka is so steady mentally and with his all-court game that any deficiency could be pounced upon and lost. I have Murray as my outsider for the tournament so I must stick with that, but if he is not serving better than he did today he could find himself under pressure against a guy with very few weaknesses. |
