Blake, again at the start of the second set and from there on in, showed why he is a big force on any given day especially on this surface and in this part of the world. It's fighting quality like this (has fought back from a set down 8 occasions this year including 4 of his last 6 matches where he has lost set one) that will keep him up with the elite. I said immediately after Fed lost that if I had the opportunity to change my Murray value bet (for the title) I would shift to Blake, and that's looking fairly do-able for the American now. |

That is all he has accomplished. The way folks talk about, value and bet Blake you would think he was a legend. Good guy, flawed game. I'm no huge Tursunov fan. He is a well documented head case, but he should have enough to best Blake today despite James' pretty good recent form. Blake is over-priced in this spot. |

without his good athleticism he's really just another player. no wraps from me. tursunov all the way here, a repeat of their last meeting, this time no US crowd to back up blake.. although im sure there will still be some influence given its just over the border. still tursunov is in good form on this surface and will be the victor |

If he turns it on like we know he can he could finish this quickly, however i am not underestimating Turs here, he is in fine form, picking up some good results but just have one of those confident feelings about Blake here.... |

I will also expect he will take care of Blake again given the American's overrated status. Should be a 5/6 take ur pick match but it won't as Blake will be priced as the favourite. I'm happy to take the money here.
I will go back to small bets based on the numerous upsets we are witnessing. Unpredictability is the fun part of this job |

The American lost just a handful of points and didn't face a break point after the first, and began dominating with his huge groundies. Tursunov has continued his rich vein of form, backing up his finals appearance in Indianapolis (included a win from behind over Blake) with two solid victories against the non-hardcourt veteran Lapentti and a jaded Lopez. He has been surprisingly strong in the big points saving the 7 or 8 break points he's faced this week, but the firepower on the return from Blake will be more than he's faced no doubt. This match is likely to be filled with more errors than winners with both players having little patience for a baseline rally but in my opinion Blake is looking sharp this week and definitely has a bit more toughness especially mentally where the Russian can really derail if he gets down. |
